The TriBeCa Film Festival sponsors an annual street party for city families. Quite separate from the Festival itself in March, this April tradition offers parents and kids a variety of activities: storytelling, puppetry, performances by cast members from Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, alike, as well as the usual face-painting and street food. The day often includes a free screening (tickets are first come, first served) of a recent kids' favorite movie at BMCC/TriBeCa Performing Arts Center. It's an excellent chance to get out and have some free fun downtown.
